What To Expect at College of Cosmetology

This course of study is designed to prepare students to become cosmetology instructors. It is centered on educational terminology, planning and scheduling, task and unit analysis, student supervision, lecturing, demonstration, and evaluation skills.

As an instructor, you can be ready to pursue a career as a teacher, platform artist, and sales representative. At College of Cosmetology, you can learn and learn how to teach with more than just lectures. Training includes a dynamic range of formats including lectures, practical demonstrations, video modules, workbooks, illustrations, written exams, and hands-on practice teaching.

You Can Become a
Licensed Instructor

Graduates of the Instructor Training Program will be eligible to apply for an Oregon Instructor’s License, which would qualify them to work at any licensed cosmetology school in the state of Oregon.

When instructor positions are available at College of Cosmetology, graduates are given priority consideration for their applications. With our career-focused program, you can be prepared to begin the next phase of your cosmetologist journey as a licensed instructor.

How Long Does Our Instructor Training Program Take?

The Instructor Training Program at College of Cosmetology consists of 1000 hours of training, which translates to 27-41 weeks depending on your schedule. This also means it’s possible to complete in less than a year!

Are There Any Prerequisites?
